    About Michael

Born in Israel, Assaf Michael Elian moved to NYC at the age of two with his parents and older brother.

From the ripe age of 6, Michael knew that he wanted to be an actor.  He immersed himself in as many school productions as possible and has fond memories of performing in kindergarten.  His excitement grew as he learned the process of putting a piece of theatre up on the stage and he felt quite comfortable performing in a variety of genres.  An improv class in high school really cemented his desire to pursue acting as a career and he has been on that trajectory ever since.

Soon after graduating from Purchase College with a B.A. in Drama Studies, Michael moved to Manhattan to pursue his career passion.
He began his experience with off-off Broadway black box theatre in a variety of venues in NYC.  He appeared in over twenty five productions with roles in productions of classical theatre as well as contemporary original works.  Some of these productions include Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Cherry Orchard, Closer, An Evening of Durang and many others.

Later, he would land a co-starring role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and that opened up the exciting world of TV & film.  Soon after, he landed roles on Rescue Me, M.O.N.Y. (a pilot directed by Spike Lee), White Collar, Blue Bloods, Person of Interest, Nurse Jackie and recurring roles on One Life To Live, All My Children and Royal Pains.  Michael had found a certain niche in tv/film based on his background and ethnic ambiguity.  He continues to relish in the opportunities afforded him to play supporting roles that often incorporate different languages and accents.

Film credits included principal roles on independent films and big budget features alike.  He has had roles opposite Bobby Cannavale, Edie Falco, Michael Shannon, Amy Ryan, Susan Lucci, Tatum O'Neal & Hailee Steinfeld.
